Emerging artist & daily painter 

Deb Michell-Smith is an emerging Australian artist born in Narrabri NSW and holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts from The University of Southern QLD. Deb lives on a farm near Narrabri in North West NSW.

During 2024 Deb has been a finalist in the National Emerging Art Prize, the Interior Art Prize NSW, Stanthorpe Art Prize QLD, Fleurieu Biennale SA, John Villiers Outback Art Prize QLD and The Doyles Art Award QLD. 

Deb was also awarded WINNER of Frost Over Barraba Art Show NSW, the ABC Western Plains Prize Dunedoo NSW and RUNNER-UP of "Unveiled' emerging art competition Aspire Gallery in Brisbane QLD.

In 2023 Deb was selected to be part of the 18 month long Work of Art Project through Regional Arts NSW for women in regional arts. Culminating in a Work of Art Showcase and forum in Orange NSW on 14/15 November 2024 where Deb will be exhibiting in the Work of Art exhibition.

Deb's work can be found in gallery stockroom's at Aspire Gallery Brisbane and Satch and Co Gallery Holbrook

Deb has an upcoming landscape exhibition based on her recent travels to The Kimberley Region of Western Australia at the Palmer Pop-Up Gallery at The Tourist Hotel, Narrabri in February 2025.​

Deb's home studio is a creative space where she paints in acrylics exploring the beauty and memories of the landscapes, environments and regional neighborhoods around her.

Deb is a country girl who studied Visual Arts at university, travelled the world and then nestled down to bring up a family with her Narrabri born and bred Hubby 'Farmer Joe'.
